On Tuesday, 23rd May 2017, in celebration of SVP’s 19th anniversary, PSG with all SVP community held a charity flea market (Bazaar Murah). This bazaar is for the community around the school (RW 1, Kampung Rawaroko, Kelurahan Rawa lumbu). In this bazaar we provided: cheap groceries package (paket sembako murah) and wearable used clothes (pakaian bekas layak pakai). Parents and the SVP community members were involved in this activity. Parents donated groceries package by contributing Rp 100,000/package consist of 3kg of rice, 2lt of cooking oil, 1kg of sugar, 1 kg of wheat flour & sweet soy sauce (580ml), and the students contributed by collecting the wearable used clothes.

Guarding ourselves from diseases is our personal responsibilities, especially from the diseases that can be easily prevented. Cervical Cancer is one of them, as it is the second highest killer of women in the world, caused by a virus called Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) and can be easily prevented. Therefore, our third Parents’ Sharing Session was about: “Women’s Health – Cervical Cancer Prevention”. It was held on April 12th, 2017 with Dr. Regina Tatiana Purba, SpOG. as the speaker.

This phrase tells us that words have power to destroy or heal. When words are both true and kind, they can change our world. This time, the topic of our Parents’ Sharing Session was about how to communicate well with children. Opened with a prayer by Ibu Lilies, followed with an ice breaking activity led by Ibu Early, as the MC, the participants were asked to find their partners and list 7 changes of function of stuff/things they had. It was very challenging and fun actually. They were forced to be creative, until they understood the changes, for example glasses become a hairband, a bracelet become an earing, a belt become a necklace, and some other incredable inventions. We learnt that to change a habit is challenging. We tend to go back to our old habits. However, everything is possible to happen, if there is a commitment.
