After the resounding success of previous school productions, this year we are back in full force and greater than ever!
On 28 April 2017, ECE presented abiennial school production entitled “Journey of the CHAMPIONs”which was supported by 20 singers, 21 musicians, and more than 100 dancers. It was brought to the audience through the solid collaboration of all ECE teachers and students.This musical production ran successfully and we received positive feedback from many parents.
The story was about five best friends named Melati, Sekar, Gendis, Lingga, and Raka. To welcome the semester break, they planned to have a journey to an island. Their parents supported their idea by arranging a homestay with a local boy named Bayu. Bayu was Melati’s cousin. Never did they imagine that the journey would enhance the value of being a champion in each of them. During their adventure, the five champs had to face many challenges in order to get clues so they could find a hidden treasure. They had to be COURAGEOUS enough to accept challenges, HONEST and truthful in choosing the action, ACTIVE and MINDFUL in dealing with and situation, show POSITIVE thinking towards others, be INNOVATIVE and OPEN-MINDED by respecting others and finding solutions creatively; they also had to be NOBLE by doing what was right and showing good morals by way of caring and sharing. After their thrilling adventure, the five champs finally proved themselves to be the truly CHAMPIONS in every way, not only for themselves, but for their friends and the people around them too.
The preparation itself was not easy. The students kept practicing to perform their best. The teachers did their best to prepare things related to the performance. The journey leading up to the show was a precious learning experience for both the students and the teachers. The success of this show truly represents what Colin Powell once said “Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty, and persistence.”
